Kerala, one of the most developed states of Indian Union with its unparalleled achievements in universal literacy, PQLI on par with advanced nations, international standards in social development, service delivery points in health care, education and public distribution up to the village level, known for its industrious manpower which provides its expertise to almost all the nations of the world, is setting its vision to tap the advantages of the new Knowledge based economy, with one of its most ambitious initiatives called ‘Akshaya’.

Pattazhy Grama Panchayat declared total e-literate through Akshaya

Kollam: More people got accustomed and gained knowledge about computer through Akshaya says Ex-minister and Pathanapuram MLA K.B. Ganeshkumar. He was speaking on the occasion of declaring Pattazhy Grama Panchayat as total e-literate.People should understand the feasibility of computer, MLA added. Knowing well about the usage of computer, it was during his stint as Transport Minister the computerised ticket machine system in KSRTC was introduced. Ganeshkumar urged people to utilise the services offered through Akshaya in the second phase. He opined that more household women became e-literate through this project.Pattazhy Grama Panchayat President K.V. Thomas presided over the meeting. District Panchayat member Smt. Sreekumari teacher and Block Panchayat Vice-President K.B. Anu inaugurated the Second Phase of Akshaya and e-payment scheme respectively. Akshaya Assistant District Co-ordinator B. Sasidhara Kurup presented the report. Akshaya Co-ordinator Biju C. Mathew explained about the activities of Akshaya in the Second Phase. Pattazhy Panchayat Vice-President R. Damodaran Pillai distributed Mementos to the entrepreneurs (Muhemmed Nadarshah.A & Madeena Beegum.M.A) and certificates to those who completed e-literacy course.Panchayat Standing Committee Chairman S. Chithrangadan welcomed the guests and Panchayat Secretary Abu Faizal offered vote of thanks.
